Workshop: Ministers of Consolation Training
This training day is for parish volunteers who would like to be involved in the ministry of consolation as well as those who are already active in this ministry but are looking for further enrichment.

This ministry of mutual charity is the responsibility of the parish community. If one member suffers in the body of Christ which is the Church, all the members suffer with that member. (1Corinthians 12:26). Caring for others in sickness, death, and mourning is a call to every believer—priest, deacon, religious, layperson. (OCF n.8)

The Funeral Vigil is often the first time family, friends, and members of the parish community gather in remembrance of the deceased for prayer and support. What can you do to prepare the Funeral Vigil as a celebration of word, song, gesture, and story? Come to listen, pray, and share vigil experiences.
